MFT SKETCH CHALLENGE 229

Using the sketch challenge as my inspiration for my awsome mom’s birthday card. I cut the MFT Upsy Daisy Die-namics out of Neenah Solar White and colored them with Copics. The sentiment is from MFT Celebrate You stamp set and is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black using the M.I.S.T.I.  Choosing a strip of black swiss dot cardstock I used the small scallop border from MFT Blueprints to cut the edge. I then popped it up on fun foam, assembled my flowers and arranged them on the strip. To finish things off I added some hot pink mini pearls.

MFT SKETCH CHALLENGE 228

My mom came by and I was showing her some of my treasures. She asked me what I used ducting tape for. After cutting the water pail and gardening tools out from the fucting tape with MFT Spring Garden Die-namic set I didn’t want to waste them being they were so shiney and cute. My gnomes from the MFT You Gnome Me and are colored with Copics and fussy cut. I cut the green cardstock using blueprint 20 by my favorite things and basic border and edges also by MFT.

I wanted my sentiment to curve around the red circle that I cut out of MFT cross stitch circle stax so I pulled out my M.I.S.T.I and my grided alignment hexagon and embossed with Ranger fine detail white to get the results I wanted. the green cardstock, red, and the floral prints are all popped up with fun foam.

MFT Sketch Challenge 227

I wanted to make a card for my boyfriends kids to give their mother. I had my Simon Says Stamp Stamp May card kit sitting on the table and thought that the papers look like Mother’s Day card material even though the kit is more of a wedding theme kit. taking a piece of cream cardstock that came with the kit I made my card base and stamped it with Stampin Up Papillion Potpourri butterflies in Stampin Up soft sky ink and Simon Says Stamps new color pale blush pink. it needed a little something else so I put dots of two way glue down and gold  embossed them.

image

Using one of the prints from the card kit I cut a fishtail at the end of the strip and also did the same thing with the dark grey cardstock and a piece of Stampin Up vellum. the sentiment on the vellum is from Stampin Up all year cheer and is embossed in gold. The blush pink strip and the two dots are cut using MFTs blueprints 9 and the dark grey was hand cut. Lexi and the boys were tickled to death to have this to give to her mother along with a Stampin Up stamp set and of my favorite things Die-namics die.

HAPPY MOO-THER’S DAY CARD

My Mother’s loves animals of all types and My Favorite Things just had this awsome release. I thought I would get creative and make a card using these incredible products but I needed a mother’s day sentiment. While out delivering the mail my little brain was just going and it came to me. HAPPY MoO-tHeR’s DAY, and the inside  sentiment? I UDDERLY LOVE YOU. So now how to pull this off.
I pulled out MFT The Whole Herd and decided to use the letters in the sentiments, Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and Neenah Solar White and create the one I wanted. I pulled out my MISTI and masked off the letters and after a couple tries I did it.

image

Using Tim Holtz Broken China and a blending tool I created my sky. I then cut all my elements out using MFT’S Rolling Hills, Barn, and Grassy Fields. The cow is from The Whole Herd colored with Copics and the farm girl is from BB Green Pastures also colored with Copics.

Now for assembly.  The Stampin’up Old Olive hill was placed behind the Stampin’up Mossy Meadow one. The sentiment was fussy cut, placed on a square of Neenah cardstock and mounted behind the barn doors. I attached the rest of the barn elements and pope it up with Stampin’up dimensionals. I placed the cow to the left also popes up and added some grass. The inside sentiment was fussy cut along with the farm girl and placed on the inside. I then grounded her with some grass.

I love the results and hope my mother does also.

MFT Color Challenge 20

Unfortunately I had a customer pass away sunday. I wanted to make his widow a card to express my sympathy for her loss.

I pulled out my Lavender Fields, Wild Wisteria, Lemon Chiffon, and Daffodil MFT ink pads. I used these colors and Stampin’ Ups Beautiful Bunch to create the floral paper. Using Stampin’ Up Label thinlets I cut the floral paper, lavender fields and neenah solar white.

The butterflies were cut using Stampin’ Up Beautiful Butterflies thinlets folder. After stamping my sentiment and layering it all up, I mounted it on a Lemon Chiffon card base. Initially I didn’t particular like the color combo. It was just too easter eggy or something,  but I figured it is a challenge so let’s see what we can do. I ended up loving the results. I guess that is the point of the challenges, to make you create.

MFT Sketch Challenge 225

This was so much fun. I started with the Simon Says Stamp April card kit as my inspiration. needed a background paper to bring some fun into my card and couldn’t find anything that went with the colors, so I created my own. I used inkadinkado ‘ s Circle and dots set and stamped sss orange peel, mint, and doll pink on Neenah white cardstock.

It needed some pizzazz and the gold embossing did the trick. After gold embossing the sentiment on vellum which is from Simon Says Stamps Big Birthday, I thought it would add a little something extra if I curved the It’s  Your Birthday from the same set in the top left corner. I really like the results.

MFT Sketch Challenge 226

Found this awsome paper, Painted Fancy by Recollections. I just loved the colors. I pulled two more colors of cardstock that popped the colors in the print. I used MFT Blueprints 13, 16, and 20 to cut each piece out. I made a couple extra cuts to the calypso coral piece to make the tag top. I then used my MISTI and the MFT I Knead You stamp set and stamped the tag in versa mark and white embossed it.

I added some aqua enamel dots. Last but not least a piece of lavender sheer was add behind the tag.

MFT Sketch Meets PageMaps

I had picked up the Free Spirit  We R Memory Keepers paper pack and had to create with it. The colors are so beautiful. I started off creating the postage stamps using Stampin’ Up Butterfly Basics stamp set stamped in coastal cabana,  early expresso, and hello honey and embossed

on the edges in gold. The sentiment which comes from Stampin’ Up Butterfly Basics was also embossed in gold. The background piecing was cut with My Favorite Things Die-namics Blueprints 3. Stickles fine glitter in cinnamon was added to the background. I finished it up with wink of stella, a piece of coastal cabana bakers twine and a hello honey button.

MFT Sketch Challenge 224/Happy Birdies

Ok what to do for the MFT Sketch Challenge. I chose the my favorite things lollipop addition birthday stamp set to make the circles. First I die cut four circles with the Distressed Hearts Frame Die-namics. I stamped them in Summer Splash, Sour Apple, and nightshift Blue which are all My Favorite Things die inks. The banner is from MFT Lollipop Addition Birthday stamped in Nightshift Blue. The birds or from MFT Tweet On You, I colored them with copics and grounded them with a piece of bakers twine I rubbed with sour apple ink to match.  Now what to do with the background (hmmm, yes I work backwards) I stamped it with the HB2U from Lollipop Additions Birthday in sour apple and nightshift blue and created my own background.

Cat Nap

When I looked at all the goodies I received from My Favorite Things I knew I had to create a brick wall with the Small Brick background stamp and put a cute little kitty on it from the I Knead You stamp set.  The first thing I did was to stamp white pigment ink on red cardstock for the brick wall. Then I stamped the cat in memento tuxedo black and colored it with copics. The sky was created by blending Tim Holtz Broken China distress ink on to white card stock then I cut the Cloud Cover Die-namic out of card stock and used it as a stencil and dabbed white

pigment ink on it for clouds. I decided to add the bench, which I stamped with Stampin’ ups Hardwood, and some flower pots from the Spring Garden Die-namic. To finish it I stamped my sentiment in memento tuxedo black.
